Ningaloo Marine Park is a World Heritage-listed site on the West Australian coast and it's home to the world's largest fringing reef. Along the 260 kilometres of this coral reef, you will be able to see various tropical fish, turtles, manta rays, humpback whales and whale sharks.
The massive but harmless whale sharks are quite rare and can't be spotted so easily, but in Ningaloo Marine Park, you get the privilege of swimming next to them in the clear blue waters. This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows you to glide alongside these gentle ocean giants and enjoy watching some 500 other fish and animal species and 200 coral species.
The season to meet white whale sharks is from April to July, but if you don't manage to get there on time, don't worry, from July to October, you can hang out with the whales. These friendly creatures love to approach curious swimmers, so it will surely be an unforgettable experience.

2. Gibb River Road

Ready to get on the road? Gibb River Road is one of the most famous road trip routes filled with exciting activities along the way.
This 660km long dirt road is placed in the vast Kimberley region, and it runs from Derby on the west coast to Kununurra on the eastern state border. The journey will take you through majestic mountains, red-rock gorges, national parks and natural hot springs.
You can embark on this adventure alone or join a guided tour. If you decide to go on your own, make sure you come prepared. You will need a 4WD vehicle, several days to spare and a good plan.

Your first stop is going to be Windjana National Park. If you ever wanted to see freshwater crocodiles in their natural habitat, here's where you'll get the closest look.
Don't worry, it's not too risky. During your walk, you will watch the crocs from a safe distance. Don't miss the opportunity to check out the Tunnel Creek and take a walk in the dark through the 350-million-year old limestone reefs.
Then proceed to the Lennard Gorge and Manning Gorge and take a walk through the amazing landscapes - rocks, creeks, and waterfalls. Drop your anchor in one of these gorges at least for a couple of hours and enjoy swimming, fishing or just peacefully taking the moment in.

We simply couldn't leave Fiji out of our list because, even though it's technically part of Oceania, there's something about this island we can all agree on - it is one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. But Fiji is more than sitting on the beach and sipping cocktails all day. It's an exotic adventure.
What makes Fiji different than other tropical paradises, is that this one comes closest to actually being one. The nature, the coral reefs, the animals, the romantic resorts and a perfect climate are just some of the charms of this magical island. Can't get enough of the scary crocs? Take a cruise of the Mary River Wetlands and observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. The largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles can be found precisely here.
Take a break from the adrenaline and danger, and indulge in wonderful Australian nature in Litchfield National Park. Take a boat ride along the peaceful Adelaide River, swim below the cascading waterfalls and explore the captivating nature in the park.
There is a special treat for train-lovers - hop on the Ghan, the train that will take you from Darwin to Adelaide. To be more exact, you will be travelling almost 3,000 kilometres from the north coast to the south coast of the continent. You will notice the wildlife changing right in front of your eyes, as it takes three days to cross the continent.

While the town of Katherine offers multiple sources of entertainment and accommodation options, the real thrill of the region lies in the surroundings of the town.

7. Karijini National Park
