From his humble beginnings sweeping floors in a surfboard factory in 1995 to running a world class surfboard brand based in Sydney's Northern Beaches, James Cheal, founding owner of Chilli Surfboards, prides himself on his ability to create dynamic high performance craft for his elite team riders while still offering exciting performance options for regular, everyday surfers. 

From the time Chilli (as James is referred to) first shaped his own surfboard, he was addicted to the process of designing a creation that actually worked under a surfers feet in the water! 

Renowned for making balanced performance craft for performance surfers, Chilli Surfboards is an international surfboard brand but James - and Chilli Surfboards - still call Warriewood home.

With an exciting, well rounded stable of progressive free surfers and competition surfers - Mitch Coleborn, Jay Davies, Beau Foster, the lovely Laura Enever and more - Chilli Surfboards is able to draw inspiration from all aspects of surfing's vast repertoire.
